If Only Anxiety Was This Cute!

Have you seen Inside Out 2? If not, here's a clip on YouTube from the movie and I highly recommend seeing it!

If only anxiety was such a cute orange character, it may not feel so debilitating, paralyzing, out of control and incredibly scary! If you have ever not just felt anxious, but actually not experienced an anxiety episode, then it may be difficult to understand what can go on for a person. No one's experience is exactly like the other and anxiety can show up vastly different from one person to another. However, there are some commonalities and these vary by levels of severity in frequency, duration and intensity.

For the next seven weeks I will be blogging about anxiety and my hope is to not only inform possibly with a different lens, but also to encourage and offer hope! As someone who has dealt with anxiety episodes at times in my life (thank God not as a long season or baseline!), I can share some personal along with clinical suggestions on this REAL and CHALLENGING issue.

I will be discussing FOUR main areas of anxiety to be addressed including: thoughts (mind), nervous system response (physical), emotions and spiritual aspect. To note here, I have numerous friends and clients who do not share the same faith and I totally respect that. I meet people where they are at on their journey so in this aspect of spiritual, there is a realization this will look different for people. My training and views are holistic and systemic so one aspect affects the others. For example, if our physical health is off, that will directly impact our mental and emotional health, vice versa.

Thank you for reading and I look forward to sharing more in the upcoming weeks! Have a fabulous week and take those belly breaths:)
